Photographed by urban explorer Maxime Cotte at an undisclosed European location, this overgrown automotive graveyard hides an amazing collection of abandoned military vehicles from a different age.
Heavily corroded vintage trucks, jeeps and even field ambulances can all be seen parked in the long grass, consumed by foliage which has twisted its way around rusting axles and into long-vacated cabs.

In some cases, the rotting vehicles have almost completely disappeared into the undergrowth. In a scene reminiscent of a world long forsaken by humankind, olive drab-camouflaged automobiles have weathered to earthen hues that blend with the natural environment.

Rusting trucks and jeeps sit in silent ranks, some of them at jaunty angles as tires have deflated and wheels sunk into the damp ground.

Abandoned field ambulances are betrayed by faded red crosses set against traditional white backgrounds, painted on the sides of pale blue or green body shells streaked with years worth of rust.

It’s clear that these wrecks have been parked in this de facto vehicle cemetery for many years, and only time will tell if the corroding collection is ultimately saved for preservation by enthusiasts or museums.

In recent months, Urban Ghosts has featured a number of vintage vehicle graveyards, both military and civilian, reflecting the incredible wealth of hidden history that endures all around us, often intact and generally flying under the metaphorical radar. Whatever their history, these forgotten military vehicles are a classic example.
